Lucy honoured for her work with refugees

A woman who has dedicated her life to helping asylum seekers and refugees settle in Newcastle has received a prestigious Lord Mayor’s Award. 

Violin player Lucy Fairley set up the music project Crossings which encourages people who have fled wars and persecution to meet and play music together, helping them integrate into the city and grow in confidence.

Tyneside and Northumberland Mind are now running a REVOC service based in Northumberland. The project aims to provide services in relation to your experience of crime which are aimed at supporting you on your road to recovery and better mental health.

Plea for donations by external organisation to NERS

An organisation external to NERS is going to Calais and has made a plea for the following items before April 24th 2016:

Chopped Tomatoes (Ring Pull only)

Packets of Buscuits

Sleeping Bags

Mens Waterproof Jackets

Baby Carriers or Slings

(Last three items to be freshly laundered)
