An organisation external to NERS is going to Calais and has made a plea for the following items before April 24th 2016:

Chopped Tomatoes (Ring Pull only)

Packets of Buscuits

Sleeping Bags

Mens Waterproof Jackets

Baby Carriers or Slings

(Last three items to be freshly laundered)

Please take those items to

Newcastle City of Sanctuary wants to do more to help refugees:

Nick Forbes Labour leader of Newcastle City Council in a speech made in Newcastle city council talked said that Newcastle prides itself as a city of sanctuary and Newcastle prides itself for putting itself forward as it city to help those in need.

Forbes also called on members of the public and Media to not use derogatory language towards refugees and those seeking asylum.

The Leader of the opposition in Newcastle; Liberal Democrat Anita Lower called on Newcastle to be one of the first cities make a stand and for Newcastle to take on an extra 30 People
