NERS Interpreting Service
caters for providers of services dealing with asylum seekers and refugees
in the North East of England. The majority of interpreters registered with our service are asylum seekers and refugees themselves. They have all been trained to the standards for community interpreters and endorse the Service's Code of Practice. This page is intended for first time users as well as those who have already worked with the service for a long time. How to use the interpreting service For some of you, using an interpreter might be a new and somewhat daunting experience. For others, even after several sessions with an interpreter, you may still be unsure of a few aspects of an interpreters work. Please click here for a brief guide on how to work with an interpreter. Costs and payment - the interpreting service To obtain the comprehensive information on costs of interpreting please contact the NERS Interpreting Service on 0191 245 7313 or email us at interpreting@refugee.org.uk Please note that late cancellations (less than 24 hours notice to the Service) will be charged at the hourly rate applicable. All invoices issued by the NERS Interpreting and Translation Service require payment within 28 days of submission. Booking request for interpreter All booking requests to the NERS Interpreting and Translation Service are standardised with the aim of simple and easy accessibility. If you are not sure of the system, full details are provided on how to book an interpreter. If you are already familiar with the system please download the booking form for interpreting (please right click and select 'save target as..') and post / fax / email it to NERS.
